A fun adaptation of the cool 1994 remake of that 'graphic' Peckinpah classic about 'inventions' in the darkness/intrigue and outlander-life in the American landscape of great 'personality' distances, The Getaway (Roger Donaldson). Thanks for reading!

AMLAN SATAN: We're departing from Illinois and headed to for a 'New Mexico Oscar' for social media!

SHELBYE O'HARA: Sounds like chess, Satan; what's the danger/lure for all this 'Facebook' charm(s)?

Amlan had conceived of a 'fantastic' hero-deed in New Mexico linked to his darling high-school sweetheart from the Windy-City (Shelbye) and cajoled her into riding to the southwest to visit a 'rumored' blood-diamond baron (Shawn) who'd been hoarding insurance-veil work tied with overground stores in Chicago, one of which Amlan Satan frequented. He told Shelbye the mission would be patriotic but undercover and sped off with her in his 'rented' white Saab 9-3 (new model) for what's become a 'cool' handshake for today's Romanticism, concerning the love-match of gem-conservation(s) for the Ego.

SHAWN: I expect these two 'merchants' to arrive at my estate, but I feel paranoid and hence decide to send out my ghoul-of-hell (Seamus) who'll meet them en-route to 'negotiate' (and if they've the grit, perhaps I'll consent to Mr. Satan's plan of some social media insurance commentary write concerning comics-ad/hype for investors with the 'eye' for materialism!).

Well, with Baron Shawn's evil redhead-henchman (Seamus) now hot-trailing Amlan/Shelbye, the getaway-vision of wrought heroics for a deed of a diamond class had (somehow) become more...mysterious! Well, Shawn really did live in an ominously opulent estate in this New Mexico Oscar worthy tale, and he hoped (honestly) eerily that Seamus would 'dispel' them as vagrants, lest they had something more 'round' to offer (for all).

SHAWN: Me thinks to post my estate on social media for a handshake for architecture commentary!

SHELBYE: So, we'll showcase our gem-watch and offer to replace Shawn-pieces for the ones in this?

AMLAN: It needs be perfect, so you get him drunk and I'll get the deed (done) with the fakes in it.

SHELBYE: When Shawn posts on media about gem-insurance magic, there'll be inquiry for charlatans?
AMLAN: Excellence; we'll be for Brussels-sprout before Shawn and his ghouls determine the mean.

JOURNAL ENTRY: I remember my younger days (Dartmouth) when I was dressing up for Halloweentime and trick-or-treating with community youth and sharing Selfies on social-media and 'dreaming' of that chess-future for myself when I'd (rather nicely) cast myself as a hero-teacher of this Earth of capitalism-race mystery/intrigue; I'd not think this 'turn' of wheel(s) read me...all the way to Hell (wow).

Seamus was that Hell of this new future-fate-life of Amlan Satan, who nevertheless found great aspiration(s) alongside Shelbye. They spotted the evil Seamus at a Courtyard (motel) ahead of their eventual arrival at Baron Shawn's estate in the southwest. Amlan fired two silencer-shots at Seamus and forced him to crawl to a nearby vet-office.

SEAMUS: You're the darling 'Facebook-like' vet-couple of America, no?
TEDDY/LIZ: We're here to help/treat, sir (thanx).

SEAMUS: I owe you all...I won't kill Teddy and 'steal-away' Liz (ok?).

TEDDY/LIZ: Ha, what a wonderful/resilient joke despite your wound(s), Seamus; we'll post on media!

SEAMUS: Cool (haha).

However, Seamus wasn't joking. He killed Teddy after being treated and 'persuaded' Liz to become his sidekick on this misadventure to track/destroy/ID Amlan and Shelbye who'd fled from him at the Courtyard (motel) earlier, and rumors flew at the vet-center in this American Southwest tale-of-darkside chess that Liz had been kidnapped.

LIZ: Life got boring; I was 'wooed' by this badland-badman of this cool Homeland (hmm).

SEAMUS: You're talking to yourself again, sweet-pea; forget that 'boring' vet-office (now).

LIZ: Alright; I'll just look up vet-photos on social media (ok).

SHAWN: Any news, idiot?
SEAMUS: I've got a bunny with me (now); she loves celebrity-posts on social-media (and me!).

Seamus/Liz found Amlan/Shelbye at a diner near the final-destination, Baron Shawn's estate, and revealed it was Seamus who was hired (all along) to determine their true grit. Amlan scribbled a note to Shelbye to put some of his hidden bottle of arsenic into Seamus' soup (inside the diner).

SHELBYE: So, he's in the restroom dead?

AMLAN: Don't think 'twice' about that bunny-Liz, Shelbye; this is a memory and read (think).

SHELBYE: We're headed to Shawn's then, with your 'golden-gun' for watch, Mr. Satan.

AMLAN: We're almost there!

SHAWN: You've got an extra credit offer alongside your watch/showcase, Amlan/Shelbye?
AMLAN: It's an Toronto baseball-card of 'incredible' insurance value, for comment/chess!

SHAWN: Tell Shelbye I'm 'grateful' for that 'absinthe-potion' for body-physique enhancement(s).

AMLAN: Keep the card; share with friends on media, "This merchant-tale's one of...briefs."

SHAWN: Alright.

Amlan/Shelbye triumphed in this adventure of the southwest, and Satan came out with a 'lore' for reading(s) and Shelbye would cheer this memory into a spun tale for an online comic appropriately titled The Getaway. Amlan would recount this 'deed' as one worthy of that 'classic' age of American-spirit writes, concerning the 'black-and-white' visage' of traffic's materialism, for Homeland's bound for social matter (hmm).
