Gambit's Turn

Gambit's Turn

A Story by Abishai100
"

An affable Homeland-Jersey teacher finds 'magic' in an alley (for bowling!) and may offer a 'social media view' for what's (ironically) materialism.

"
An affable adaptation of one of my very-fave American films, of great sportsmanship (or superstitions!), Kingpin (Woody Harrelson), which I hope you'll like (and thanks for reading),

GAMBIT: This is my turn, for a Jersey-Bowl extravaganza that will set me in motion for a national turn for pride/achievement and social-media handshakes/commentary (wow).

Well, our prince of America, the affable/modest teacher (Gambit) had decided to take a turn at some modest glory by entering a very cool Homeland-Jersey bowling-tourney in the post-9/11 era which would create some nice media-commentary about traffic-securities for populism spirit(s) in smalltown values-oriented intelligence and chess.

GAMBIT: "I'm taking my adopted girl (Ezzy) to the alley (Playdrome); I must win; if I do, we'll share some of her charity-walk photos on Facebook/social-media for a hand-write concerning purely 'American' magic (for the Ego)."

Well, apparently for our protagonist prince-hero teacher of Homeland-Jersey optimism and rhetoric, his view for traffic-securities storyboards would be complicated, as his estranger 'stranger' brother (Ajay) was to show up at the very-same bowling alley for his own vision of what made 'American' sportsmanship so incompletely cool for the populism-spirit...pure money!

AJAY: I'm bringing my very best/fave lucky-charm to this contest, the lovely and educated lady-of-chance, the inimitable Teresa, who shall 'shock' my competitors into thinking there's no way they should win (ha); what a 'hoot' for social media commentary for this criminally-insane stranger man (for a scholarship).

Well, believe it or not Gambit managed to win. Even though his 'evil' twin/estranged brother (Ajay) made it all the way to the Final to challenge him (ha). What a contest that was (too). It came down to that horrid 7/10 split, which Gambit's turn was 'fated' to match (or achieve). He did. He kissed his own charm-lady of fortune-reading(s) --- his adopted girl (Ezzy).

AJAY: Run-and-hide; if I find you anywhere near this alley (Playdrome), I swear to the gods of war that I'll decapitate you (or something); now, I shall retire as the unofficial cooler-brother of this sibling-rivalry, with Teresa, for more Brussels-sprout action (and I'll make this 'oath' on social media, just as you would, but you don't have to, because of 'Gambit's turn' of the materialism).

EZZY: Congrats, dad.
GAMBIT: A celebration egg-curry dinner to remember this wonders-rich deed!
EZZY: Are you 'sad' to see Ajay leave (again)?
GAMBIT: Nah...in fact (indeed), he'd inspired me to find romance (a ma for ya).
EZZY: Wow!

Well, Gambit didn't find that post-bowl 'match' (or a mom for Ezzy!), but the diamond-cufflinks he'd buy her for her special graduation gift (someday) using the big-portion of the earnings with the bowling 'deed' in the Homeland-Jersey 'event' of great social-media 'color' would remind him/her why the real magic of sportsmanship in this modern/new age of antiterrorism optimism for smalltown securities/imagination was simply...money (for the soul).

EZZY: You got me a life-size mall-mannequin doll/statue, dad?
GAMBIT: You know it, Ezzy; this shall be our 'secret' Galatea (your governess).
EZZY: Very cool, dad; I guess you're not sad about your brother (anymore)?
GAMBIT: Nah; in fact (indeed), there's a 'doll' face for (a new) American rate.
