Halen's Reunion

Halen returns hometown-area for his HS-reunion and must perform a 'deed' for heroics while negotiating his curse-confession (lycanthropy) to his old-sweetheart (Esmerelda).

Halen was returning to his hometown (after some time) to attend his high-school reunion (NJ/USA) and had been assigned to a special nearby (PA) bank-diamond insurance 'mask' work that Halloween season but still harbored a more 'dark' secret concerning his identity and consciousness, which he'd never think to comment on in social media (hmm).

INTERPOL: "Blood-diamond corruption today threatens the world-gem exchange(s) and makes 'rogue' piracy/terrorism/insurance woe(s)."

He was excited to see his old hometown sweetheart (Esmerelda), and he hoped this would afford him the 'extra credit' chance, not to disclose his current temp covert-position as a diamond-operationalist but his other darker lifelong secret of being a lycanthrope/werewolf, converted and transformed and mutating (every full-moon) because of a wolf-bite in college during a camping trip to the Pine-Barrens (NJ/USA). Returning home, after wandering around America, working small-temp jobs of varied positions/meaning to simply 'forget' his curse, Halen hoped now (seriously) he'd disclose this more serious 'secret' to Esmerelda, perhaps find a miracle-path to settling-down to a normal life (perhaps) and sharing thoughts on Facebook (ha).

ESMERELDA: I've not heard from you in ages, Halen.

HALEN: You know I loved you then, way back then, and I still do, hon.

ESMERELDA: Yet, you strike me as a man of secret(s), Halen (ok).

HALEN: I'd like you to become my special 'mermaid' for life, Esmerelda.

ESMERELDA: I'm just thinking of social-media posts of school photo-graphics (USA).

HALEN: I understand (really).

Well, he still had a job to do, involving acid-guns guised as street-theater toy water-rifles that October Halloween season of masked festivity in that area of the States. He did his job, and he got a cool insurance 'deed' confidence (Interpol-relation?) and then hoped to continue to court his old-darling (Esmerelda), and think more about marriage, children, and Xmas-shopping (toys!).

However, a blood-diamond baron had sent someone to stalk Halen in that area, to find this 'dashing' new temp-recruit working in the insider-circle(s) of gem-insurance smugglers highways interception, and sent an evil minion (Fred) to pose as a 'friend' of a teacher attending but failing to do so (because of a 'sudden' accident). Fred was to bloody-kill Halen, and post a parody online (wow).

ESMERELDA: What happened to Mr. Kotter's sub-friend (Fred), Halen?
HALEN: He stalked me to the basement, where I'd drawn him (secretly).

ESMERELDA: And?
HALEN: I had to 'dispose' of him, in the furnace-incinerator (ash); he was a terrorist.

ESMERELDA: What's this message (now)...you're some kind of 'James Bond' operative?
HALEN: Something like that (no concern); forget the sarcasm; I've a (real) 'dark' secret!

ESMERELDA: What's it?
HALEN: I was bitten by a wolf (in the Pine-Barrens) and became a lycanthrope, hon.

ESMERELDA: Are you making fun of me after I agreed to be your reunion-date?

HALEN: I kid you not...I anticipate my next 'cursed' mutation next full-moon.

ESMERELDA: You'll still 'stick-around' until then, Halen (to let me 'witness')?

HALEN: I'm not being hateful/sarcastic/dishonest; please believe (in) me.

ESMERELDA: Jesus, you sound deadly serious about (all) this, Halen (Jesus).

HALEN: Let me prove something to you, and you be the judge.

ESMERLELDA: Good lord, what then?
HALEN: We'd find a way (by God) to enjoy a Netflix-lycanthrope horror-film (Oct.31).

ESMERELDA: Unsure what to respond with...but I'll remain patient (for you!).

HALEN: Hey, that's all I (seriously) ask...I'm not even drunk yet, Esmerelda (ok?).

Halen departed after attending the romantic-reunion with his old-gal Esmerelda but left-behind a cool patriot-comics book, promising her in a note, "Had to escape to give-in and not let you see me become a Wolfen-specter by the full-moon arrival, my old love; thanx for being my reunion-girl/memory, and should I find that (miracle) remedy to my lycanthrope-condition, Esmerelda, this comic book will be for our future (human!) son...without humor."

ESMERELDA (Diary): "Unsure what to think; left-behind (again) with an (Indian) luchi-bread thanksgiving-diner plate I'd have given to old Halen; he sounded so darn earnest or somehow at least haunted (by some 'real' secret)...can't help but feel the right thing to do is put aside my psyche...and consider his 'veiled-promise' some 'human' sign of a real hospitality-civilized gesture...of (superstitious) love (wow)."
