The Homeland quartet (Amlan and Marcus and Ezzy and Danica) darted to the Redwoods (California/Homeland) to investigate sightings of a dark-side 'zombie' with bat-wings, in hat and trench-coat no less, and wielding battle-axes hands of domain 'invasion' paranoia consciousness and decapitation 'symbolism' for outright terrorism superstition in the post-9/11 Earth of social-net destabilization image/bureaucracy. Was this 'Creeper' specter a reincarnation of some past-Earth era imp/devil prowling for terrain/transit paranoia-megatrends? That's what Amlan thought (for social media and photo-synthesis readings).

Marcus thought this eerie 'terrorist' was somehow the impish terror Spring-heeled Jack (old-London lore) 'reborn' with a new-Earth transit/traffic paranoia image of outright deformity-superstitions for invasion/terrorism, and he wondered if the Creeper, like Spring-heeled Jack, required a double-axes defense 'line' for duration-light and 'culture' broadswords (hmm).
