Three New York folklore-writers travel West to explore interest in Spring-heeled Jack sightings, recreating an 'old' (19th-Century London) transit-paranoia by bureaucracy.

"
A yarn about Spring-heeled Jack (old-London lore).

Amlan and Marcus and Danica had prepared for a special visit out-West (Cali) for investigating very unusual sighting-claims tied with an old-London imp-devil named Spring-heeled Jack, a winged, clawed 'devil' like street-terrorism invoking 'specter' said to create pedestrian-passerby superstitions. Why was this 'Devil-Jack' now appearing to Americans in the Homeland (Cali) forest of the Redwoods? This is the question concerning our three protagonist writers, and Amlan/Marcus/Danica sought special Earthling/American culture 'diadems' for their journey to be armed for the humanist view that perhaps this 'devil-imp' simply sought a superstitions-examination for new millennium (21st-Century) distances to network-language or 'pedestrian-passerby direction' (for the Ego!).

AMLAN: This Super Bowl (Rams-QB) 'trophy' card is the right-stuff for American transit/traffic IQ.
MARCUS: We've done much library studies, and American folklore and English folklore ties for chess?
DANICA: We surely have, buddies; in deeds, we've become 'Devil-Jack' students for cyber-image/chat.
AMLAN: Maybe the ghost-magic of the Redwoods concerns some transit-fitness wit for this Devil-Jack?
MARCUS: Quite rational; perchance the imp-devil wants some social-media 'image' for sportsmanship.
AMLAN: He's been likened to the Jersey Devil and Jack the Ripper for his 'traffic' superstition beard(s).

Well, upon arriving in the Redwoods for their sportsmanship/traffic 'consciousness' referenced knowledge and acumen for detecting the presence of this transit 'superstition' devil (Spring-heeled Jack), Amlan and Marcus and Danica wondered how they'd adapt some 'examination' in the Homeland forest into some social-media 'transit' culture friendly faerie-tale for comment/review/critique.

DANICA: I wonder if Spring-heeled Jack wouldn't want his story told/shared (e.g., Facebook, etc.!).

However, despite Danica's misgivings, Marcus was the most insistent that Spring-heeled Jack's story of being somehow 'reborn' for new millennium (21st-Century) transit-paranoia needed to be told/explored/shared on social-media; perhaps this imp-devil simply 'liked' mod-cyber culture image of transit/commerce/media 'fashion' for a lifestyle challenge (for the Ego!).

MARCUS: I can see him!
DANICA: Maybe he's like the Mothman (you know?).
AMLAN: Use your flare to 'catch' his attention.
MARCUS: It's running to us (now!).
DANICA: I should've taken my Paul Bunyan class in West Virginia more seriously.

DEVIL-JACK: What brings you to my sight, explorers?
TRIO (Amlan/Marcus/Danica): A quest for culture-passages intelligence for confidence, Jack!
DEVIL-JACK: Yea, I flourished in old-London, but it's 21st-Century America that's of interest now.
TRIO: For nothing but a 'dare' for superstitions and concerning generic transit-myths, eh?
DEVIL-JACK: You must keep me secret, explorers; for else I won't gift you exchange-benefit.
TRIO: We bring our 'cool' Super Bowl (Rams-QB) treasure-item (card) for American fashion, Jack!
DEVIL-JACK: Why, you're something of a 'trio' of social-media 'traffic' scholars (for art).
TRIO: We'd like to adapt your 'existence' into a transit-fable for terrorism-superstitions, Jack.
DEVIL-JACK: Do so (with credit), and I shall self-exile to the deep-ocean abyss, explorers.
TRIO: If we fail to make the mark?
DEVIL-JACK: I just might appear at dawn in Times Square on New Year's Eve, explorers (ha).
TRIO: Sounds like an 'art(s)' wage for Homeland crossing-beards, Devil-Jack.
DEVIL-JACK: Good (farewell).

Well, make the mark our trumpet-trio (Amlan/Marcus/Danica) did, imprinting this somehow 'reborn' Spring-heeled Jack into a marvelous American transit/traffic superstitions yarn invoking a new age of American lore/storytelling concerning a general media/audience 'metaphysics' fascination with the shapes and color of populations-dynamics and sportsmanship-relevant exchanges-negotiations (hmmm). It won them the Pulitzer...and perhaps a 'safe' distance from that Devil-Jack (forever!).

AMLAN: I got us Once Upon a Time in America (Sergio Leone), friends!
MARCUS: Sounds like the right 'tone(s)' for Halloween-Eve, Amlan pal.
DANICA: We shall count this transit-traffic trumpet for Americans as our 'fantasy' fossil.
AMLAN: Cool beans.
