Mall of Wickets

Mall of Wickets

A Story by Abishai100
"

Amlan/Marcus, pals from Dartmouth, find high-tension IQ inside a Homeland (American) mall...for leviathan!

"
A consumerism 'culture' yarn, loosely drawn from the materialism-reading and 'sporting' themes/imagery of Mallrats (Kevin Smith).

====

AMLAN: Trying-on clothing, mall-shop, Selfie-IQ, seeking troubles.
MARCUS: Remembering Dartmouth, friends for good, consumerism-chess.
AMLAN: Just got an emoticon from Tandy (very good).
MARCUS: If this mall gets destroyed, we'll think simply of Selfie-arts.
AMLAN: Wonderful examination...for what troubles loom in the views, pal.

Amlan and Marcus were inside the Franklin Mall (Windy-City) and thought of those language-arts of Selfie and consumerism 'culture' imagery that would perhaps surface some deep-thought Saturday consciousness that autumn on Earth. Marcus was always the more theatrical of the pair of pals from Dartmouth and thought of wearing his fave 'spin' mask on Michael Myers for the shopping complex design (sure).

AMLAN: There it is...troubles.
MARCUS: Two young lovely ladies being searched by mall-security (in view)?
AMLAN: This is American poetry, especially if you've read too much Dreiser.
MARCUS: Tragedy...and comedy...like that Stevie Wonder song, pal.
AMLAN: Me thinks these two damsels might want dates post-darkness.
MARCUS: Tasty-o.

The two women accepted this stranger Saturday's Eve 'proposition' spoken by Amlan and Marcus after mall-security decided they weren't dealing drugs or anything. They were impressed by the two gents' background(s) and wondered if there was some nice language-arts for their 'rescue' of the ladies' sensibilities of shopping complex direction.

AMLAN: Come here often?

It was Amlan who found true-love that day inside the shopping-mall, and it was Amlan who'd adapt that Saturday's Eve wishing-examination and 'account' into a Pulitzer novel simply titled Mallwords. However, Marcus would wonder (more) if his Dartmouth-pal had some real Selfie-dowry 'revelation' concerning a more (secret/private) brain-matter.

"Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson).
