Portrait of Earthling/suburbia Xmas-consumerism 'jitters' life and an old folk-tale worth a 'view' for (modern) jellyfish.

Headless Horseman story, set in Haddonfield (NJ,USA).

Friends, I found myself in South Jersey, Haddonfield, for Xmas-'24, thinking fondly of my fanfare for NJ Devils ice-hockey and Buffalo Bills chances of reaching the conference title game (after it won a whopping 5 division titles in a row in the '20s!). I decided to wander the streets of Haddonfield, in my sports-fangear reflecting my interests in local football stuff (too) like Eagles spirits (Facebook-like). Follow along,

The Haddonfield streets for Xmas-consumerism thoroughfare highlighted by the Homeland-Jersey streets of lights for ornament and metaphysics of holiday-season securities in the post-9/11 era Earth of commerce/capitalism forged lifestyle securities for general confidence/ideology was something to behold, but I decided to accent the 'consciousness' further with a cool toy (laser!) gun for my darling son (Damian)...Selfie-like.

MERCHANT: A future-world imagination toy for Xmas-'24, for your son, sir?
ME: Good reading for Earthling stuff in Haddonfield for the season, right?
MERCHANT: There's been gossip of sightings of the Headless Horseman, sir.
ME: What?
MERCHANT: You know the story of an anti-festive specter without head?
ME: I read it in school, and I saw that Johnny Depp film (damn).
MERCHANT: Be careful trekking home...it's capitalist season jitters, right?
ME: Sure (Facebook-like).

I didn't take the Haddonfield merchant's omen seriously, obviously. However, as I walked home that (snowy!) Eve in my Homeland-Jersey Xmas-streets and used my flashlight to make funny laser-like moving dance images of light, I suddenly saw before me, in the woods just behind a row of shops/houses in Haddonfield (NJ/USA), the leering specter of that Headless Horseman! He held a skull in his hand, and I felt (honestly!) it looked like my (own) head...I was horrified. I ran, and the Horseman, in half-visible shadow-visage pursued me, but no one notices, and I noticed other Haddonfield passerby walking by, giggling and happy, and wondering why I had a nervous face running (damn).

WIFE: Thanx for the laser toy for Damian, hubby.
ME: Don't ask what I had to achieve to get it (home), wife.
WIFE: What...did you see the Headless Horseman or something?
ME: You read Haddonfield cyber-gossip or tales, eh?
WIFE: Are you being humorous?
ME: Maybe (Selfie-like).

"Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson).
