There was a special '93 TV-culture moment I recall from high-school years when I cheered for the Duke basketball team's run following their '91-'92 championship wins before their star seniors departed from college-career excellence, leaving behind a smaller-nucleus of marshals/captains to carry-over a proud legacy for fans/critics (Facebook-like!).

That special TV-moment season of '93 Duke basketball saw my cheered Blue Devils trumpet a temp-#1 national ranking and do performatively well against their timeless rivals, the UNC Tar Heels (wow). In the first contest with the Tar Heels, the smaller-nucleus Duke force created a great offense-line for a cool-win. I knew then this '93 carry-over quest post-championships signaled something timeless/special about this TV age team of competition laurels/ornament (Facebook-like!).

GIRLFRIEND: Well, Duke didn't win a national title until 2001, darling.
ME: Yes, but since that '91-'92 title cheer, they had countless ACC titles.
GIRLFRIEND: They also had many regular-season #1-rankings for critics, no?
ME: Yes, and this #1-ranking shoulder came with 3 titles in the new millennium.
GIRLFRIEND: I know that...2001, 2010, 2015 (brings their total title count to 5).
ME: They also made it to the Final Four in 2025, with their new coach, love!
GIRLFRIEND: Their new coach was a title-winning Duke athlete, right?
ME: Yes, he was, love...and Duke's got some special UNC-rivalry TV-qualia too.
GIRLFRIEND: They're TV-jar (Facebook-like).
ME: You said it.

Sure, Duke had much ambitions to quench since that 'ghost-magic' run of '91-'92, and they'd find such thirst-quench with a number of accoladed TV age thrills for highlights for fans/critics (ok). In deeds, the Blue Devils had become something of a hyperbole-storyboard for writers and critics and fans alike (including me!). I actually saw the '01-title game when they conquered critique-hurdles and overcame a mighty Arizona team for their 3rd title en-route to their 5-title destiny under the same legendary head-coach (Mike Krzyzewski). Through this entire TV age march for fans/critics, Duke had maintained that 'cool' rivalry with the UNC Tar Heels; and I saw them split 1-1 draw in that '93 carry-over season/year/quest with the smaller-nucleus Blue Devils of arguably might (wow). Their first match that '93 year resulted in a mighty win, which was not altogether guaranteed/predicted by fans or critics (ok). Sure, when I think of Blue Devils TV/cheer, I think of Friday pub drinks with my girlfriend and chat(s) concerning bound-Rationalism of what makes competition-jars a midways-walkie for things of rivalry/bias ABCD for the Ego (Facebook-like).
