MR. AMLAN SATAN: Well, this sort of progress for diamond-thievery is social kiln.

GARRETT: It's been my pleasure or honor to serve as your vizier, friend?

MR. AMLAN SATAN: You're the best Cajun-cook this side of the Mississippi, hey.

GARRETT: You've found a black market angel in Esmerelda, but she's a queen, no?

MR. AMLAN SATAN: You said I was a nerd/teacher in past-life; there's space for IQ.

GARRETT: How many gamblers have you crossed with in the continent now, pal?

MR. AMLAN SATAN: Esmerelda's more my sister than a nurse, coach (ha).

GARRETT: Selfie-like (for varsity-blues?).

Sure, being or 'becoming' a master thief in the Western continent of North America was no small feet-word; and it was the case, however dark/veiled for Mr. Amlan Satan, Slovak-Algerian immigrant/citizen/nomad. Thanks to his (only) friend (and consultant), Garrett, Satan (Amlan) had found incomplete-distances readings to the leviathan/uncertainty of manmade-kilns for translating thievery (diamonds mostly) into a vigilantism-kaleidoscope for hyperbole (ok). However, Garrett had him promise he'd not define his city-line visage through the mirror-gaze upon those he crossed (e.g., urban know-nothings).

ESMERELDA: I was a nurse in another life; and I will be one in another life.

AMLAN: That's cool.

ESMERELDA: I got you a Ouija-board (Brussels-Xmas).

AMLAN: That's cool.

ESMERELDA: You gonna conjure up a track-cop somehow, prince fool.

AMLAN: That's cool.

ESMERELDA: Were you (ever) worried about terrorism?

AMLAN: Weird...nothing's knucklebones, Ezzy...Earth's knit.

Truly, wandering around Earth (North America) as a Coronavirus-masked hermit-investor for (fake?) toys/telescopes had aided Amlan Satan in becoming a street-boxes cracker for gossip and superstitions hyperbole weaving, and it was all jobs he was directed too by Garrett his (only?) friend. To be a master-thief required special eye for kick; and Amlan wondered if he'd ever find the off-ramp of sanity to remember (all) this as simply...onside-knits.
