Amlan thinks his friendship with school-girl Shelbye concerning their Oscar-night co-nomination will 'ornament' their (shared?) views on war's ongoing (social) knowing.

Oscar-night had finally come, and Amlan and Shelbye found a great duo-showing to see if either or both or neither of them would win for their nominated performances (Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress) in a story about incomplete-hell negotiations of a woman in adulterous-links with Afghan War vets and being counseled by her male-confidant gent. Amlan and Shelbye showed in stunning matching black clothing (tuxedo/gown) and wanted to represent the high-school they attended together for social media commentary (Facebook-like!).

AMLAN: We look great, and Oscars-culture shines as we thought it had, love.

SHELBYE: I know you'll win for our film, I just know it, ok.

AMLAN: Hey, it doesn't take a genius to think Oscar-loss is shadowing your work!

SHELBYE: Well, thanks for all the praise and hip-support; you were like Taj.

AMLAN: Ha, my portrayal of Taj, confidant to your character (Danica) was fun!

SHELBYE: You deserve the gold-statue of culture as much as anyone, friend.

AMLAN: Selfie-like.

AWARDS_SPEECH: "Geez, what's to say...I mean this work was very important, since we Americans think (honestly and longingly) of the sentiments compromised and the wrought politics negotiated for education and heartbreak for the records of war and endurance and post-war everyday-life...and while I (really!) thought my co-star, Shelbye ('Danica') would be up here accepting the Oscar here/tonight, it's me, for my role as Taj, Danica's confidant, trying to endlessly remind her why corruption of the veteran's soul is something surely an American would find requiring deep psychiatric know for know...so (really), this is a 'cool' honor for that culture of Oscar-night knighthood-light (thanks to all)."

Amlan was shocked but honored and regretted Shelbye didn't join him on-stage to accept that gold-statue for her work as he did for his in their (shared) film/story for a night of great culture-reflection and for a story of deep American/Earthling significance, for psychology, spirituality, and deep (and maybe dark) conversation. Amlan moved to San Diego to manage a hip pizza dive branch and learned Shelbye had trekked herself to Princeton to become a cyber-homeschooling teacher (wow). Maybe Oscar-night afforded them (both/equally) some social media 'culture' reflection for all things of the war kind...and of the peace field goals (ok).
