War & Shadows: Librarian's Think

War & Shadows: Librarian's Think

A Story by Abishai100
"

Soldier-vet of the Afghan-War tracks a hypnotizing librarian post-return home and discovers a mystery-shade worth a 'know-no' talk with his housekeeper, for a writer's keratin.

"
A suspicion/superstitions tale (fiction).

"I had seen much in the Afghan-War and was sent home as a decorated/injured soldier and felt myself coming-alive again, restoring myself to the Western/American Selfie-culture of things of everyday consumerism and access to media and TV and met a woman at a library I began frequenting on Saturday AMs, a lady named Shelbye (Facebook-like!)."

"I decided to tell my Saturdays-visiting housekeeper (Ezzy) about Shelbye; and I told Ezzy I liked visiting my local American Homeland library on Saturday mornings, before Ezzy's weekend visits to clean-up my suburbia-haven; and I told Ezzy I liked readings books on war in that library and wondering about the intriguing and unusual and attractive librarian (Shelbye); and I realized Ezzy began to take great-interest in this post-war vet consciousness of everyday traffic/pedestrian curiosity. We sort of became co-thinkers of daydreams (ha)."

"I decided to follow around Shelbye, but I didn't tell anyone of this. I waited for her in the library lot in my car until she came out after-closing and then tracked her to a home she'd visit, the home a policeman. I knew it was a cop's house, because he'd open the door with his cop-hat and a t-shirt on and let Shelbye inside his house. They then turned off the cop's upstairs bedroom light. She didn't come out until the morning after (ok). I visited the cop's house some time later and noted that he was a married man; and his wife would go to some business or work or maybe personal activity related, away from home. I knew then Shelbye was taking advantage of this wife-leave to have an adulterous-affair with the married policeman (wow)."

EZZY: You're flabbergasted.
ME: Shelbye's having an affair with a married policeman, Ezzy (wow!).
EZZY: You were drawn to her for some post-war vet fantasy about human life.
ME: Yes, maybe I wanted to immerse back into a librarian-consciousness USA!
EZZY: That's real life, soldier-man...this is of great interest...you should write it.
ME: Well, I did 'dabble' a bit in writing in school (yes).
EZZY: Do it, soldier-man..."Vet finds adultery for home-return a psyche-cleat."
ME: That's a Pulitzer-prize caliber 'fiction' (for Heaven/Hell)...Facebook-like!
EZZY: Earth's cleats...for 'know'...I'll help you write it, solider-man (for kernels).
ME: Great (Selfie-like).
