Purge (of the Labyrinth): Part 1

Maze-challenge guide angel narrates the Earthling adventure of a married-couple who must win a throne to evade Purge-prosecution (fanfic-crossover trilogy).

My (epic) experimental (3-part story) blend/hybrid of two fave-films/franchises, Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro) and The Purge (James DeMonaco). Thanks for reading (Happy Thanksgiving-November Saturday),

"Well, friends...this is a story I am to tell you about, as an angel of Heaven, concerning two immigrants to the American Homeland, Slovak-Algerians, a married-duo, Amlan and Esmerelda ('AE') who were negotiating troubles of their escape from Eastern Europe during a potent Russian advance and then having to contend with being marked by the Purge (an annual socialized/ritualized United States underground/invisible cult-night of nationwide crime/murder/vandalism serving as 'catharsis' for the remainder of the year for cessation of any antisocial psychological 'urges'). Amlan and Esmerelda ('AE') had been marked by the Purge advocates to undergo an American culture IQ examination to warrant a full-pardon concerning their New England suburbia home/residence (Facebook-like)."

"However, this 3-part story is not about the Purge, or those deviance instincts that were fostered in the 21st-Century modern American Homeland (socially/ritually) so criminal-insanity would be quelled 'effectively' for all other days of the year! No, friends...this story concerns our protagonist married-darlings ('AE'), immigrants/citizens of Boston-town (New England) who escaped Europe to find the American Dream, avoid Purge prosecution(s), and achieve easy/safe life (ok). This story is about Amlan and Esmerelda ('AE'). This story is about how I guided them, as an angel of the forest, from Heaven, to guide them into Pan's Labyrinth, an underground maze-challenge where trials of the heart would win them feelings of immortality...and perhaps pardon from the dark Purge (in New England)."

"This story of 'AE' (Amlan and Esmerelda) stretches back to a time of a war in Heaven when the Devil did accuse God of nepotism and sought to harm Eden and humans by wrath. During this war, two humans, a married-couple, lost their poor lives, and it was (now!) believed Amlan and Esmerelda ('AE') were that lost married-couple (from that Heaven/Eden war) reincarnated. We angels built Pan's Labyrinth to see if the married-couple would, in fact, be reincarnated, seek-challenge and achieve the maze-prizes, and reclaim some spirit-throne for all our great sportsmanship consciousness feelings, despite the Devil's swords of vanity...and wrath!"

PART 1 (The Invitation):

ANGEL: You two are in-irony blessed here in your 21st-Century Facebook-USA!
AE (Amlan/Esmerelda): What if we succumb to darkness with this Purge-mark?
ANGEL: This Labyrinth-game we've designed may win you the IQ to win a pardon!
AE: We're to go into this underworld, or labyrinth, and complete tasks for prize?
ANGEL: You'd win a great throne of symbolism significance and perhaps eternity!
AE: What're the tasks, here, angel...and why're you in a gas-mask here/now?
ANGEL: I represent the dystopian-angst of modern Earthling-life and our maze.
AE: What's the Labyrinth, angel (these tasks at-hand for language)?
ANGEL: Amlan and Esmerelda, you're to go through 3 levels or maze-sectors.
AE: What're the tasks/challenges/sectors for our prize-quest, angel?
ANGEL: Should you succeed, you'll be given a great sports trading-card of magic.
AE: What, like a baseball-card?
ANGEL: Not just any sports trading-card, but one that will impress the Purge.
AE: The Purge advocates demanding our examination will find us USA-insightful?
ANGEL: Yes, for sure, AE...but you can't gain this card in our maze unless you win.
AE: We're to complete the tasks of the maze to 'win' this magical sports-card?
ANGEL: You said it, AE (Amlan and Esmerelda)...best of fortunes, for the Purge.
AE: Why us, angel?
ANGEL: This underworld/invisible maze Labyrinth (made by angel Pan) is foggy.
AE: We merely escaped Europe and seek to evade the Purge in America.
ANGEL: You're Adam and Eve reborn, my darlings...you must win.

AE: Alright, we've no choice (really)...but what're these 3 'tasks' for the throne?
ANGEL: Steal a dragon's helmet, score a basket, and rescue a babe with water.
AE: You're apparently the right-stuff (masked!) guide...let's begin, angel (thanx).
