Purge (of the Labyrinth): Part 2

Maze-challenge guide angel narrates the Earthling adventure of a married-couple who must win a throne to evade Purge-prosecution (fanfic-crossover trilogy).

My (epic) experimental (3-part story) blend/hybrid of two fave-films/franchises, Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro) and The Purge (James DeMonaco). Thanks for reading (Happy Thanksgiving-November Saturday),

"So...on with part-2 of our extra credit tale of the pursuit of the now-fabled American Dream, two darlings of the Western world (Slovak-Algerian Catholic immigrants/citizens who escaped Europe and now had to evade a Purge prosecution for New England sanity), and our magical if dark/complex underworld Labyrinth of throne-prize to be sought for personal credit and potential Earthling/American magic-token to be freed from the Purge (annual/ritual/socialized night of criminal-insanity and mayhem for 'catharsis' of anarchy for any other day of the calendar-year). Our protagonist hero-darlings, a married-couple, Amlan and Esmerelda ('AE'), were accepting my invitation to enter the 3-task maze-challenge of the Labyrinth. We angels, including myself (Amlan and Esmerelda's 'unofficial' tour-guide), hoped AE was the reincarnation of Adam and Eve, seeking retribution-romance for things lost by humans by now (Facebook-like!)."

"The Purge had become quite a phenomenon. It was a night of systematized anarchy and crime, meant to weed-out any 'unnatural' antisocial urge to create street-chaos for any other day of the year, in the American Homeland. AE (Amlan and Esmerelda) had been marked by the Purge (council, etc.) as potential examination 'diplomats' for their Earthling/American culture-IQ to be 'gifted' pardon, lest they be bloody-killed right there in New England (damn). AE knew they were to complete the 3-part challenge of our angel-erected underworld Labyrinth, and 3 tasks, in differing sectors of the maze-challenge, to obtain a very-special 'magical' sports trading-card we placed for them to win pardon from the Purge-prosecution that season in Boston-town (New England)."

"In the first-2 parts of the 3-part maze game/challenge of our underworld ghost-magic Labyrinth, AE had to procure/steal a helmet off a dragon's head and then shoot/score a very-special basket which only one of them would have to volunteer to do. To steal the dragon's helmet, Esmerelda distracted the hiding leviathan-creature with a special song about football and soccer, while Amlan silently creeped behind the dragon and lifted its helmet off its head and scurried away completing the song Esmerelda had begun to sing. The dragon was ironically amused, as was I! In the second-challenge, AE had to score a very-special basket, and to do so had to volunteer only one of them to do so. Amlan volunteered and recounted a very 'iconic' American basketball-town film in which an underdog-athlete found a unique/simplified method of scoring for humility and sweet-effect. He achieved the deed, and I was giddy (now!). This was Facebook-like. AE was one-step closer and 1-task distance-minded from procuring that magical sports trading-card 'throne' prize to return overground (to New England) and win pardon from the Purge prosecution (for leviathan/uncertainty)."

PART 2 (The Journeyway):

ANGEL (Me): Congrats, darlings of this Labyrinth!

AE (Amlan and Esmerelda): This be no game, angel!
ANGEL: You're performing beautifully (Selfie-like!).
AE: We procured the dragon's helmet and scored that special basket, ok.
ANGEL: Very fine, for-deed, darlings of the Labyrinth; you've 1-task remaining.
AE: Pray tell, or remind us, angel (thanx).
ANGEL: You're to enter a water-room in which you must rescue a babe, heroes.
AE: How so, angel?
ANGEL: You'll find the babe is on a lily-pad on a lake in front of your magic card.
AE: The babe rests ahead of that sports trading-card that wins us Purge-pardon?
ANGEL: Precision counts, heroes AE; you must find a way to hypnotize the babe.
AE: Hypnotize the babe on the lake lily-pad?
ANGEL: If the babe's hypnotized, you may lift it up and carry it without vertigo.
AE: And then swim ahead to the magical sports-card behind the lily-pad, angel?
ANGEL: You got it, AE (take-care not to shake or lose-cool).
AE: What's this all about (really)?
ANGEL: To win you your American Dream, of course...Labyrinth's knitting.
AE: Alright (Facebook-like)...thanx.
ANGEL: Good luck, AE (Selfie-like).
