Artful: Streets of Equal-Signs

Artful: Streets of Equal-Signs

A Story by Abishai100
"

Early times NY finds a real-life Artful Dodger type accepting a street-gossip aristocracy-infiltration game-challenge cast by his calculating employing angels-couple for diamonds/capitalism quiz.

Injecting another extra credit (literary character allusions) piece in-between my Green Hornet series. Happy March-Sat. (thank for reading),

"Friends, the time and place in this New York dark faerie-tale was the early 20th-Century of things of inventions in customs and design and transit and superstitions, and there was buzz of a surfacing great commerce-explosion dance with clothing and speakeasy-things of night-scenes, which is where we find our antihero prince of pickpocket-life and diamonds-theft hyperbole, an Artful Dodger 'character-type' (Mr. Amlan Satan), Slovak-Algerian Catholic-American 2nd-gen immigrant, who'd cross-path with a dark pair of 'fallen'-angels of commerce/capitalism ethos for our Blue Planet of photo-synthesis. Follow along, friends (Facebook-like)."

SATAN: I merely want to thief the gems of the aristocrat's party-mansion house-safe.
ANGELS: We're the Angels, Amlan Satan, a NY-fashionable cocaine couple of investors!
SATAN: I'll get this deed for ya...since I clearly see you're like...Mr/Mrs Macbeth (ok).
ANGELS: Fair for fare, for freckles-fingering the fountain-of-fiction cast by the host.
SATAN: The host of this party, Angels...a 'Mister Yale'...seems rather Gatsby-like, no?
ANGELS: He's much a shattering-Fagin, Amlan Satan (good-luck, self-like).

MISTER YALE: Where the Hell are my (actual) treasures, fool?
BUTLER: The party was a smash, sir...and there were guests (masked) in your den.
YALE: You allowed guests (masked/drunk) to enter my den party late-hour, sir?
BUTLER: Sir, there were three guests (total), and I was escort (monitoring!).
YALE: Yes, yes, sure, man...but you allowed yourself to get absinthe-drunk.
BUTLER: According to your (personal) gem-speculator, the swapped/placed gems are good!
YALE: Yes, whoever burned my safe with chemicals and made swap left good-gems (damn).
BUTLER: Something to do with commerce-prestige for folk-stories of this century, sir.
YALE: You guessed it, man...and our 'Artful Dodger' (in-question) was 'sponsored' here.
BUTLER: Damn (self-like).

"Mr. Amlan Satan, the protagonist antihero 'prince' of this (rather-dark) faerie-tale of the challenge of streets-prestige for early 20th-Century New York 'things' of diamonds (and 'insurance'), acquired the laurel his stranger-angels 'employers' cast for him and facilitated a gossip-game against the corrupt/nihilistic Mister Yale (of Wall-St.). Was Amlan the (actual) Artful Dodger...and would/could NY-capitalism (forever) 'feel' like a social/faces things...of touchdowns? What do you think (for doubt)?"

"Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson).
