Dresden's Midnight RavenA Poem by AetherealThis poem was written for The Raven Contest. The title says it all.Dresden's Midnight Raven
'Once upon a midnight dreary, as I pondered weak and weary,'
I heard Allied bombers roar.
Through a silence that was eery,
there droned more than heretofore.
With eyes teary, sad, and bleary,
I fled to my basement floor
where a raven, dark and cheery,
hid within my haven's core.
I inquired, in ways leery,
Dresden's fate in this cruel war,
shall our Fuehrer fall, my deary?
'Quoth the raven, "Nevermore!" '
