A Poem by Agonizing Clarity

I sold my time, and trust, and love
so I could get the parts I needed
to repair my broken heart.

But when I got to the store, the cashier
kindly shook her head and said
"Sorry, it's not enough."

love the dark metaphor You have written a nice piece here. I appreciate brevity. You say so much with so few words. I wish it were enough. Thank you for posting. I really like this
