Lightening

Lightening strikes everywhere

It hits all of us just the same

Electric bolts of light

Descending from the heavens

And returning back again

Giving their light

Giving their power

Destructive light magnified

Electric energy manifested

In beautiful displays of power and destruction

Rolling through the sky

The clap of thunder

Announces their arrival

And announces their depart

As soon as they have come

They have left again

Leaving their ephemeral mark

Balance and equilibrium

Displayed in beautiful design

Lighting up the night sky

For us all to see

Storms are awesome to watch, and the lightning strikes have such phenomenal shock value.....I live where there are more lightning strikes than anywhere in the US....near Tampa, Fl. It's terrific to see them over the water!
You have done a good job of conveying their power and quick ending!!

I used to live in Fort Worth Tx so every summer we would see the big thunderstorms come in and even went through a couple of tornadoes.
