History

History can be a mystery

It can be what defines us

Or it can be what we try 

To hide when we look at

Our lives and we realize

Our history makes up a 

Little more of us than we

Would like to pretend but

Ultimately you have to 

Accept your history so

It wont be a mystery and

You can move forward 

With clarity in your 

Life and understanding

That your journey is 

Not as confusing or 

As complicated as

We make it out

true words my friend...I am a parentless lady that was raised by grandparents
my only world was my grandfather Poppy...he passed was I was only 14
my grandmother did not want to raise me...and it showed
I was not a troubled teen- didn't drink , smoke ect....I studied till no end
this past I will hold in my memories...and raise my daughters with all my light and dignity

I loved the way you write, so clear and in the same time with much symbolic inside lines! history of humans and of each person is already part of him, the same and future, but in "history", not like in "past" there is stamp of unique events, which never happen...And past is just a flowing line to the future...in this poem we can see that each moment is so precious for us! and never to lose it, to keep our real face.
