Odds in the Realm of LoveA Poem by Ma. Aileen Canizares SalibayLove is coupled with pain.
As the night goes deep
Tranquility drapes around me The carcasses of a shattered heart Let tears race down my face. I wasn't born blind Yet I become one When he holds a hand Certainly not mine. I wasn't born deaf either Yet my ears cannot hear When cronies label me a darned fool For wanting him to complete the puzzle. And though I wasn't born mute I wish to confess The words that flooded in my head But for no reason my lips are sealed. In love arena Not one but two hands make a sound But how a second my heart brims with joy Beats the hours I drench in tears is an outre. However, the veer I made shows no regret It may not be as opulent as fairytales But the immense happiness it brings Shows meaning that no one fathoms. © 2015 Ma. Aileen Canizares Salibay |
