A Poem by Amy Hale

Withering hope transpires
   the laughter in the world
                                 surrounds me.

But I'm excluded
   because of immature games
                                 childish ways.

My hopes discover a fraility
   My heart steers from hostility
        "What is the answer?"
I ask within my misery
Why can't I just ignore them?
Why do I have to restore their happiness
                     because of my despair?
      My heart is hurting;
                     it is not fair.

But people are stubborn,
that-  I have come to find.
Why can't I pretend to be blind?

Because now I am giving them satisfaction,
     With my lack of interaction.
