THE SUN EATER'S ANTHEM

THE SUN EATER'S ANTHEM

A Poem by Akinlolu
"

The world is full of gods with feet of clay

"
I am the Sun Eater, the dream weaver,
The cosmos too small for my dance with the reaper.

I came with songs carved in stone, not chalk,
Convictions eternal, solid as rock.
I’m titanium; unyielding, unbent,
I wield the imperium, heaven’s gates in my grip.

I’m the cat with lives beyond ninety-nine,
Death keeps calling, but the crown stays mine.
I am the flame; untamed, unbroken,
The spark of creation, the word unspoken.

I am the mountain, my apex scarring the skies,
A platform for legends, a summit for flight.
I’ve walked on comets, I’ve swallowed the night,
The Sun Eater roars, and the void complies.

Yet even titans ache, though their armor gleams,
I drown in silence, I break in dreams.
This heart of fire still throbs, still bleeds,
Unbind my pain; unbreak these needs.

The bold language in the beginning really lends itself to the tender finish. Well done.

Thank you. For your kind response to my work.
Wow, reading this was like getting on carnival ride that wouldn't let me breathe the entire ride.
I am especially impressed by the Slant Rhyme you mixed into this.
Yes, even titans ache and unfortunately because they do, they try to make us ache along with them.
Nicely done.
