the city paved in acid.

the city paved in acid.

A Poem by alan khan

this is something else.

my hungry feet crunch from the rubble of building.
that have fallen due to lack of care.

the streets now paved with the dried blood
left there from centuries of chaos.

human families reduced now to packs,
of thirsty predators.

and this is god's plan.

reform
from flawless marble.

into reverting to beasts.

wreaking of terrible
instincts.

men, who once danced to tunes
of there own choosing

scurry and hide at the hint
of foreign bass.

hit men clothed in suits
constructed from the cleanest
of cloth.

now bow to insects as they
dress themselves in rags from
fallen bad men.

find a boat and escape.
but to where?

this city
paved in the acid of a once terrible kingdom
is the world.

This is well written, vivd imagery and language. A sense of apocolyptic destruction, a tattered and dark world. Very Good work, sir.

apocalyptic echoes~ reverberate through all the wrong footsteps humanity has taken~ raw honest echoes ~ the reality is just outside the window~
