Pink Cherry Blossoms (Hanami)

I woke up thinking about the amazing Pink Cherry Blossoms that must be blooming in Asia at the moment... then I remembered that Haiku is actually a form of Japanese poetry and the two came together!

the pretty spring sun

cherry blossoms one by one

Hanami lets go

OR

the pretty spring sun

cherry blossoms one by one

all bright in pink bloom 

AND

winter trees in bloom

enduring spring sun shines through

pink cherry blossoms

And just for a laugh... I struggled a bit: 

pink cherry blossoms 

bright yellow spring sunrays shine

this haiku doesn't rhyme

hahaha

Haiku - Japanese poetry - 5-7-5, about nature and happening now.
Though Westerners, we have tried to match up to the brilliance of Japanese poetry, we could never get close to their sophistication... but I try, as I love it so much! x

Your 3-pack of haikus worked well......I would suggest to link them up in some way, i.e. Each one seems as if it can stand independently..... To see a progression from one to the next, with a climax in the third could be a sweet smelling idea.....:)

Ever tried a Senryu? Same structure, but instead of nature, the topic is human emotions.

Senryu - I have not tried this. I should add it to my list next. Thank you :) I quite enjoy writing songs on human emotion (indirectly of course)... so this could be a great challenge for me xx
