InsensateA Poem by AshleyFluorescent lights blinded my eyes Forcing me to look away He grabbed my face Making me look into his pale eyes
He was disappointed to see That my eyes weren't filled with anything They were insensate Feeling nothing No pain, no love, nothing
He had been begging me for weeks To be his property But time and time again I refused Never would I let a man have my body Or my love
His opulence meant nothing to me He could buy me the world And yet I would never choose him For my feelings lay with her
He found this out, And didn't like it, Not one bit So he took matters into his own hands And took her life
If only he had known That killing my love Also killed the one thing He desired most Me © 2013 Ashley |
