Thoughts Of The MisunderstoodA Poem by Alexander CainHe sits in his tiny cell thinking about all he has lost, and all he has now. About all the pain, and all the gain he has been through. Just praying for the strength to keep going, and hoping he does not cave in and tie the noose tight. He looks at a picture of her face, so small and innocent, yet filled with pain beyond her years. He knows he has to continue living. Not for him, but for her because he knows nobody will protect her like he will. He is almost out of the danger zone when he makes the mistake of thinking about the one he loves. The one who does not love him in return. Just like his mother didn’t love him when he needed it most. Now he wonders: “How much longer can he last.” © 2015 Alexander CainFeatured Review
