You are a soldier

You are a soldier

A Poem by Alex Louise Edwards

You are a soldier,

Your stronger then a boulder,

But try not to carry the world on your shoulder.

Do your best,

And along the way kill the pest,

Stand on top of the world,

And shout from the chest.

Tell them you can do this,

Even if you have to sleep,

And take shifts.

You are strong,

And getting where you want to be,

Might take long,

But continue and sing a song.

Sing from the heart and don't stop,

Put the past in a box and secure it with a lock,

Or send it out to sea with the waves.

You are a soldier,

Stronger then a boulder,

But try not to carry the world on your shoulder.

If you're a solder, you solder metal alloy pieces together. If you're a soldier, you fight in wars. Sounds like you might have them a bit confused partner.
