In a DreamA Poem by AnalgesiaInspired by a dream I had, shocker...Fallen into a dream:
dark and dogmatic
clear and emphatic
where a forest so definite
so real I could feel it
enveloped me.
My feet
bare and bearing'
weight and witness.
On a carpet of leaves
where reality cleaves
away slowly.
Abstract thinking
ignominous and idle:
let leaves fall, dead and tidal
cover this broken body
laying restfull and free
from reality.
This peacefull rest
safe and sedimentary
seas of sanctuary.
Here larva burrow and mine
silken threa filling my mind
now empty of all else.
In a forest of faith
rooted in rhetoric
still as statues.
Marble cracks and falls asunder
as do many such wonders
as magnificent and chained.
This shelter:
beautifull and benevolent
transfixing and terrible.
Remember to wander
remember to wonder.
All things need sunlight now and again
and shelter from the pouring rain:
forget neither,
lest you smother yourself in either.
