I Loved, I Listened, and I Lost...

an old poem I wrote before I finally found love in someone else, but I wrote while next to the person I am writing to in this poem (My ex gf is not the person I am writing to in this)

Is it cheating if it's love,

is wrong to have such

a deep urge for you?

I've loved you from the start,

you found a way into my heart,

yet I don't have the guts to say it.

I know you're in a bond,

but then why am I so fond

of every chance I can see you?

Your smile and laughter brings warmth to my eyes,

every word from your mouth is always a surprise.

You're funny, kind, and talented too,

oh God why do I want to be with you?

Aa is nice,

nothing against her

but it nearly broke my heart when you said the words,

"I'm in love with her".

I see you with her, looking all starry-eyed,

And I wonder if you ever think of me on the side.

Do you feel my longing, my silent shout?

Or am I just a shadow, you don't think about?

Still this fondness grows deep inside me,

hoping one day you'll turn around and see,

the ugly truth I've kept for so long,

I think love you, way too strong.

Would you give me a chance,

could I have this dance?

Even if we just stay friends,

just one moment, then it'll be the end.

Damn it feels like it was written with such deep and true love. I felt it so well. So honest and well written. mannn THIS IS SO GOOD I LOVED THE POEM SO MUCH! I think everyone feels something like this at some point in their youth, but for some reason I can't feel it anymore. I think it's easier to hold on to such loves when you're young. great that you can feel something... It must be perfect to be able to write both stories and poems.

beautifully expressed and so heartfelt. every word and every line has deep emotions and meanings here. this is a lovely poem that can melt anyone's heart but it does hurt when the love is not reciprocated, and that comes through to the fore in this poem. penned wonderfully well, Alice. thanks for sharing.

Deep emotions and feelings for someone you love is really beautiful but it hurts when they don't acknowledge although they know that you would fall head over heels for them which shatters our heart into thousands of pieces. But still, we would do anything to make them notice our feelings. Lovely work, Alice. I really loved it!
