Youngest of the three children of Xanthys (which I'll be referencing as "the Three"), she was trapped for thousands of years in the void alongside her brothers, Etheridge and Kristopher, after the gods cast their father Xanthys down (quick little bit, Xanthys is the god of darkness, and after the gods finished creating mortals, he made three more that the other gods said he shouldn't keep, but he did anyways, saying they were like his children; he couldn't kill them. However, he committed "atrocities" on them (forms of abuse) so the gods cast him into what mortals knew as the sdeli (aka hell) The gods didn't trust the Three on Kypiala (world's main continent) so they trapped them in a void-like plane of existence gap. The end :3) However, in the year 3000 a.c. (after creation) they were met by a mortal named Hara, who had gained very powerful magic through a soul deal with their father, Xanthys, the god of darkness. Mind you, this was the first real contact with someone outside of the void, so when he offered a way out, the Three quickly agreed. Now, when I say "real contact", I mean contact with someone outside of the void coming into that space. They normally could interact with mortals through mindspaces and a sort of purgatory state/space . Kristopher (aka Kris), oldest brother, made/makes soul deals like their father (he's connected to the Vessels of Death (picture Obscuri from Fantastic Beasts; I'll make something on their history later); Etheridge, middle child, gave mortals visions of possible futures, mostly ones involving their own or their loved ones' deaths(he has a connection with whatever time deity I need to make); Eva protected souls, mostly individual ones during their lifetime, or at least very dark periods of it. Anywho, Hara freed them into the physical world. He and Kris became very indulged in their own plans, and Etheridge became more invested in his job of vision-granting, leaving Eva lonely, even as she traveled with them. Later that year, while the Three and Hara were traveling, Eva met Allyka, who she later came to know was the queen of the nation of Roshys. They fell in love, even as Eva had to leave with her brothers and Hara the next day. They wrote to each other, however, and Eva was able to visit her a few months later. The next year, 3001, Kris and Hara went for a "trip", and a few weeks later, Eva and Etheridge saw the horror on the news: Hara was dead; he'd gone on some "military conference to settle disagreements with Nalthis", and had died. Coincidentally, so had the entire faction of Nalthis. Nobody believed that-- they believed Nalthis had gone into hiding after killing Xanthy's leader (Eva and Etheridge also learned Hara had been the current king of Xanthys) Kris returned alone, refusing to talk about what'd happened. However, Hara was still alive in their mindspace, due to the magic put onto him by their father. (Eva had been connected into this mindspace by Kristopher, where they could essentially visit Hell) Years passed, Eva visiting Allyka more and more often whenever her brothers had "business" they had to do around Roshys. Then, in 3008, Eva met Alex. To her, he looked strange and something about him seemed otherworldly. However, they became quite close friends, and he traveled with Eva and her brothers, who never found out he was actually there. (Quick info on Alex- I don't want to spoil anything, so Ima try my best to explain him without spoiling stuff. He's 11, he doesn't age in Kypiala, and is not from their world. He has possession of literally any form of magic, and is a lot more powerful than the mortals (that know about him) perceive him to be. He legit is basically a god but also the antichrist LMAO (I say the latter due to some stuff that happens in like, Arc 3 of the series HAHAH-) Anyways, fast forward to about 3013, Alex shows Eva these four souls of kids (that are very important and actually the protagonists of the series) that are "troubled souls". EVa decides she'll use her powers to protect them after Alex tells her they're going to be put onto some very, very dark and hard timelines. (One has serious mommy issues and her dad "died" (aka he left the country to go cheat on his wife); another has inherited cannibalistic episodes (SHARKI BOI-) his dad tweaks out on him constantly because he doesn't like that he's autistic lol; one's been getting banged by his stepdad since he was six, and his best friend that he just made? She's gonna die because she's the mafia boss's kid and the government don't like him so let's kill his daughter, leaving traumatized dude with even more depression!; and then the other one is an orphan with some serious issues (worked at a bar, got locked in a dark closet for days on end, which led to an inevitable fear of the dark, then got child trafficked, then joined this Robin Hood-type gang, then got kidnapped again but her weird adoptive parents got her back, then she leaves :_D) Eva then is able to slowly give them peace in their dark times, before she's able to convince Etheridge to send one of them a vision of the best future to come (this is year 3016, during first book)
