The Light that Leads Me

As daylight faded

The darkness took form

T'was the light of Your soul

That kept me ever warm

The shadows did threaten

But You stayed by my side

As I walked through wilderness

You were my light

Never did You flicker

Never did You wane

When I glanced at the evil

You whispered my name

"Focus on Me"

You spoke ever softly

So I remembered You

And the Words that You taught me

There was a time when I strayed

I felt the demons near

And as they bared their teeth

My form melted from fear

But I was not abandoned

For You sought after me

The Light that called me back

Restored to me my peace

Thank You, my God, my Savior

My oh, so precious King

Lord of all the Earth

You are my Everything

There is no one like You

No name in all of time

You alone are worthy

All I am is Thine

Thank You for the courage

And all the strength You give me

Help me to know the truth

And see through lies so tempting

I walk among the shadows

Lies span out like an ocean

Demons bark at me like dogs

And seek to break my focus

I hold fast to You

My One and only Hope

You Who conquered Death

I trust in You alone

None shall overtake me

If I strike down each temptation

No evil can ever break me

For through Jesus is my salvation
