The Hidden Rhythm

I prayed that You would speak to me

Now I see Your words in everything

It's like a song of rhythmic vibrance

Feel it deeply within the silence

So much abstract

Prancing patterns

Nothing distracts

One thing matters

Here and now

Only this

Embrace this hope

Your tender kiss

They speak the words

As though to others

But it was I who heard

Your words of color

Self-centered?  Perhaps

But I don't believe

This was ever a world

Not made for me

With a purpose

You did design

All of creation

In perfect time

The inheritance, a promise

One that You gave

I catch a glimpse of the future

Far beyond the grave

So why should I worry?

I listen for Your song

I know You won't tarry

I know You won't be long

This life is like a feather

Traversing with the wind

Here I ride out every weather

Never minding where I've been

One day, I'll reach the end

A place of new beginnings

Funny how life works

For as I lose, I'm also winning

So as I do besiege

All of life's mysteries

I'll learn to simply trust

As I do my very best

I know You'll guide my soul

And grant me all Your peace

If I put my faith in You

And simply let You lead
