Life''s Journey

Life''s Journey

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

Begin your life's journey
Starting high or starting low
Who cares how you begin?
What matters is where you go

Challenges await you
Some will kick you down
Rise again to conquer hate
Let your victory resound

You are something special
To someone, I guarantee
So live for those who love you most
And quell your misery

Maybe you haven't found them
Those people who will love you
Keep trying, friend; they're near and far
Someone will see your value

Continue the journey
And lift up your sword
Take part in life's tourney
You'll hardly be bored

So much to see and do
So much to learn and try
You'll learn to know what's true
And see through empty lies

Glory in gathered wisdom
But remember, you're a fool
Lest you trip in your own kingdom
When pride takes ahold of you

Reach the young so desperate
And lift the orphans up
For as you tend to others
You'll see they'll fill your cup

Close your eyes to others
Refuse to feel their pain
You'll lose potential brothers
And nothing will be gained

All your choices define yourself
Step to darkness or to light
Whether standing wise or playing the fool
God observes the sight

Finish strong, learning much
Tally up your actions
What was good; what was not?
Time to make transactions

A ticket to His Kingdom
A slide to burning lakes
Did you look to unfurled wisdom?
Did you feed upon the hate?

It's over now
You made it
Where did you end up?

What you put in
Is what you get
When all is said and done
