Remembering Them

Remembering Them

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

There are nights when my mind

Untangles thoughts intertwined

All the faces of those

I might never see

Hidden deep in the recesses

Of the back of my psyche

Their essence emerging

From within my dreams

I cherish the moments

To see them again

Reliving times lost

Ecstasy but then

Of course the dreams fade

And I’m left then to wonder

Where are they now?

Down what paths have they wandered?

I hope that they’re safe

As I sit there and ponder

And I pray for each of them

While they are on my mind

Is it possible I’ll see them again

There at the end of time?

Or perhaps by chance

Somewhere down the line?
