The Bunny vs the Boar (a memory)A Poem by Alicia-VeracityOverflowing with pride You basked in your achievements I glanced it in your smirk So I came up with this subtle plan
You and I fought first You had obvious strength My brother brawled you second But didn’t want to go again
So I hid all my fear Behind a devilish grin Like a twitchy bunny, I leapt up Seemingly brimming with confidence
I could see your growing ire At my perfectly executed facade To crush me was your desire For compared to me, you were a “god”
Shoved into the wall And pummeled like a punching bag Tripped and made to fall Still, I gave you no satisfaction
I just kept on rising up Just like your raging fury Why wouldn’t she just break? I’m stubborn and not sorry
The instructor gave you chances You kept on getting madder Until finally your advances Landed us in disaster
You charged me like a bull I didn’t weigh a thing So over folded mats I flew Tossed out of the ring
Dizzy and disoriented I shook myself right back And leaping to my feet once more I was ready for the next attack
The instructor laughed a little To see my feeble form Still rising to the challenge Defiant and standing firm
But he said that was quite enough Finally seeing what I already knew That this guy needed kicked down a notch Before his inflated ego grew
Guy wiped the floor with me Albeit with illegal moves Still I smirked to see That I had nothing left to prove
I brought out his true colors Never failing to ascend The instructor talked with his father Stubbornness winning in the end © 2025 Alicia-VeracityAuthor's Note
