Starlight Stew

Starlight Stew

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

Starlit sky

An empty bowl

Rumbling hunger

Weary soul

Pouring the water

Hot and steamy

Sitting in the moonlight

Bowl full of dreaming

I stir up the stars

I see in my dish

Wishing upon them

As I drink in their bliss

One final delight

I peer at the heavens

Hoping to be free

By daylight comes the blessing

My stomach so empty

Save of the fresh starlight stew

I pass on in the night

To an eternity, brand new
