Here lie the moments

I can’t comprehend

What is this emotion

I feel for my friend?

A feeling so deep

So noble and true

I only want to love her

That’s all I hope to do

I won’t ask for anything

I don’t even want it

Whatever could be given

Let her always safeguard it

My desire is pure

And only to protect

I always want to be there

So she will never feel neglect

Maybe it’s too much

Or perhaps it’s not enough

It’s hard to truly know

But I know my girl is tough

God, grant her what I can’t

And be there when she’s hurt

Show her that I love her

And that her prayers are heard

Give her all the courage

The strength for what’s ahead

Guide her with your truth

Bring to mind whatever’s needed
