Adventure to Be Had

Adventure to Be Had

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

There are paths

That are so easy to find

Tended so often

Unmastered by vines

And what lies in wait

At the end of these roads?

The signs clearly state

So in confidence you go

There are these doorways

Laid thickly with brush

Hidden treasures within

Waiting patiently for a touch

And what lies beyond?

No clear answers show

Will you open this door?

Or simply turn tail and go?

Some things are so certain

But others, not so

If you don’t wander a little

You may never know

But would you desire

To look deep within?

To search out this mystery

With love and compassion?

What if it’s a monster

Caught in its own trap?

Would you tend to it kindly

Or enraged, just attack?

Is justice your king?

Or would you dare to forgive?

What would you choose?

To kill or let live?

Now here stands our door

Hiding both treasures and danger

Adventure and madness

And mysteries even stranger

To open or press on?

A choice in your hands

Would you choose your assurance

Or dare to travel foreign lands?

Perhaps leave it shut

If you lack now the courage

For God will find others

If you are not worthy

Alicia-Veracity
A question of character, choices, and whether you choose the "safe" road or the paths filled with both risk and reward.
