I Believe

I Believe

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

I believe

In words left unspoken

Trapped behind walls

Concealing devotion

I believe

In the stillness and calm

Where a hand touches another

Just to feel its warmth

I believe

In transcendent connection

Bridges built through existence

Calm and steady affection

I believe

In what few comprehend

For the simple fact

That most don’t listen

I believe

In treasure buried deep

Guarded by gentle dragon

Holding fast to her peace

I believe

In the mystery of silence

Where intensity is stifled

Yet it survives by defiance

I believe

In something most don’t

That in the deepest stillness

Lies a tale left untold

I believe

And I will always wait here

Speaking “Friend” to the door

Until you relinquish your fear
