A Phoenix Tale

A Phoenix Tale

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

They saw her fall
Descending flame
One final cry
To seal her fate

She crashed to earth
Her heartbeat rampant
The flames climbed higher
Her spirit dampened

The enemy encircled
To fan the flames
Eyes dimming marveled
'Til only ash remained

Once silence settled
They laughed and jeered
Drinking in victory
'Til dawn appeared

Then ash was stirred
In wispy glow
All eyes widened
As fear did grow

A figure rose
The ash reborn
Creature ablaze
Her spark reformed

New life ignited
Each enemy fled
Justice was served
When the last one fell dead
