The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

A quiet nuzzle

A simple thing

Not loud or vibrant

Just comforting

I wish I could

Exist with you

To just be still

Maintain our truth

Our differences

Only add perspective

Enhancing minds

Not one defective

I walk my path

You walk your own

Should we meet again

I'll pull you close

I hope one day

Our paths intertwine

And we find ourselves

With interwoven lives

I've asked for you

Because I care

And more than anything

I wish to be there

But still I find

I must be patient

We're both still learning

Through challenges we're facing

In time we'll see

What lies ahead

How our choices shape us

These lives we've led

"What will be will be"

Was it you who said this?

It's a comfort to me

Helping me maintain my focus

I remain in the present

Learning and improving

Change brings many things

And I sense that something's moving

I can't pretend to understand

But I have this lingering feeling

Like there's somehow this hidden plan

That only Time's revealing

I love you now

Always and forever

Maintaining hope

For the day we're together

Maybe I am hopeless

Maybe I just play the fool

Maybe I don't mind

'Cause I love you, that's the truth
