The Allure

The Allure

A Poem by Alicia-Veracity

When the allure does lead you

Ever down that hall

Consider now, its end

And what lies tied

To pretty strings

Mind yourself as you descend

For what seems harmless

Rarely is

You laugh to puppet shows

Until you find

Its grip less charming

As you sway to darkness' throes

So take my warning

Turn around

Don't heed the Siren's call

For if you wander

The Tempter's path

You'll soon become its thrall

Another puppet

Makeup for the rot

A face to bear the false

Drawing in others

Subtle allure

'Til darkness' crushing assault
