Homo homini lupus

Homo homini lupus

A Story by Jeannette Lunete

"Iron vertebrae are breaking courage in your shelter. It is not legitimate to speak while you are sighing. I understand."
The last drop of Bourbon stunned his liver. He spits out his final charm.
"My eyes are full of lemon drops while I speak to you."
Now the shadow is trying to escape. This man can't even dance the Moonwalk. Lame.
"You know that I get shaky when you look at me like that. Stop being so disgusted. Do you think that I enjoy being the King on a chessboard called Subsistence?"
His iris is now turning into a mosaic fragment of unbeaten illusions.
"I could fall for you but I am still on the ground. "
The visage is whispering tranquility.
" Don't you imitate my pattern, you cannot handle the kink of  being in the wrong puzzle."
Finally the enemy takes a bow. The pieces of the mirror are on the ground. He sees a reflection. It could almost be him.

The many facets of the human being what appears is not always that which lies beneath... Lovely word formation that sparks great imagery.Bravo!

I did very much!
Your writing style is absolutely beautiful in all of your works, and I absolutely love the feelings and emotion gained from reading each line of this piece. I love the realizations the subjects come to, and how I as a reader can find relations to these realizations. "It could almost be him" got me the most because I feel as though we loose ourselves sometimes, and it takes near break downs or falling apart to realize our changes. Just my interpretations. Great work.

chuckling here... touche`
You went right for the jugular here, like the back & forth conversation, makes the essence of your story come to life...it's truly a pop in the eye in the truest sense.

Thanks for the review. I am glad you liked it. :)
Very nicely written! Such compact story-telling is rare these days. Not a word wasted. I'm too long winded for this kind of thing. You have a confident voice and clear understanding of your character. Impressive.
