Another silly one

THE POLYWOG

 

Take pity on the polywog
no longer egg and not yet frog
but hovers somewhere in between
a speckle black and froggy green.

A pudgy fat aquatic dwarf
who waits his turn to metamorph,
then, as a frog, you know the luck,
gets flattened by a passing truck.
