the fading of youth

the fading of youth

A Poem by Alma

like a wilting flower,

I am caught by your gaze,

blind to my life,

there's only haze.

as young as the dawn,

under a perfect sky,

I starve on you,

on my hopeless try.

go out and see,

the world is all yours,

awaiting with glee,

the angelic cores.

I bitterly cry,

in behalf of my youth,

it passed so quickly,

now who's to accuse?

vicariously I stand,

for the fading of age,

without having tasted,

anything but rage.

It's coming to dust,

before having been,

and I end this life,

in the most cruel scene.            -a- (02/10/2007)

Another wonderful write! I think this is one of my favorites from you. A poem a large audience could identify with this.

"like a wilting flower,
I am caught by your gaze,
blind to my life,
there's only haze."

Thanks for sharing!

This poem is very sad.. youth is fleeting so it is said .. life is too, so many times we don't get or make what we want from it.
Dying before having lived .. this is a sad thought.. very good writing .. again!
