Slumber

Slumber

A Poem by Alma

I can't wait for the day to be over,

darkness to smother sunlight with its obtrusive veil.

I listen to the time ticking away- counting minutes and seconds to midnight,

awaiting mother earth to unite with the peace of the innocent moon.

the horizon drowns in orange light,

as the final sunrays say their farewell to earthly presence.

I sit by my window and watch the blackness rise,

making me high on the view of the endless- seeming moment.

my bed's softness erases the day's most painful memories,

as I lay down and close my eyes- making myself invisible.

I breathe in deeply until it hurts in my lungs,

until nothing matters but the state of beautiful unconsciousness.

everything is alright as long as I sleep,

time and space make love to each other silently,

the process of decay is remote from my carnal existence,

and the whispering voices poison the truth of someone else.     -a- (02/10/2008)

I like this Alma, it is beautiful and these lines i really like..

time and space make love to each other silently,

I too love the night and wait for darkness .. sunlight hurts my eyes and skin and makes everything too much, bright.

Beautiful to read!
