Hopes.

 

My hopes were shattered;

Broken beyond repair;

Forever sealed in a dark place.

I couldn’t go there.

It caused too much pain.

Pain that sent me into a round of hysteria.

I’d hold my chest tight, trying to close the abyss.

The abyss that seemed permanently stuck in my chest.
