Miracle.

 

People say birth is a miracle,

But not for me.

It is the complete opposite.

I wish I was never born.

I wouldn’t have to suffer every minute of the day;

Every day for each year of my life,

And many years to come.

I would prefer to be in this world at all.

Not a critique...never. But for me, as a reader, i would love to see more. More build-up. there's a story here, so tell it. Build me up, then hit me in the gut with the unexpected--that you wish you weren't here. Lull me into the belief...YOUR belief, that birth is a miracle, then sock it to me that...maybe it's not.
