I Refuse to Love YouA Poem by Amanda MarieUnintentional, he ignites passion within me, His words resonate more than I would like. Avert my eyes from his morning glory gaze. How I wish to fall madly intertwinded. But no. I refuse to love you. My pulse senses his coming, Erratic heartbeat conflicting a calm mind. Fasten the mask firmer than ever before. If only I could peak behind his. But no. I refuse to love you. Point blank he tells me, unashamed, I am unable to interpret this threat or compliment. Words loaded, I back away. Can there exist a time with unguarded speak? No. I refuse to love you. Nevermore a blossem to emerge, Affection snuffed before it could sprout. To pull the seed from the earth with my bare hands. Could I even cultivate a romance to grow? No. I refuse to love you. In these bleak hours that pass, I acknowledge your presence with indifference. The hope you inspire concealed. Should you wonder of such seclusion, Because, you refused to love me. © 2014 Amanda MarieReviews
