Spitefully.

Rightfully.

Frightfully.

In case you aint right for me

Don't have the time for me

In my mind I will always be,

All packed up and ready to leave.

Shoes on my feet,

even as I sleep -

sitting upright in my seat

next to the window that looks out onto the street

my plan laid out in front of me

cannot remember the exact year this was written, possibly 2008? still fighting to unpack my things mentally and stay put.. it is such a struggle to let your guard down and accept that things are stable. I do not know how to relax.

it does linger, like there could be more said.. once I scribbled at the end "but to where?" .."no where!" because I maintain this idea that I can check out at any point but really the grass is never greener on the other side.. lol

nah you don't need a non sequiter pique at the end, you just could have more if you wanted. Develop a story in here play and break it down- build a dual image maybe, you packed and ready to go and a counterpoint a him, a idea etc.

What a beautiful piece.. Loved the way this poem begun to how it ended. It can be hard to break habits but you can with enough will power and a change in your perception. Enjoyed this one very much though, great job. :) And thank you for your kind review.
