Child Upon My Lap

May this child upon my lap, sleep in peace and grace.    May angels guide him on his way, and fill his dreams with light.  I pray the Lord watch over him, as he sleeps.  And keep him in His comforting arms.
 
May this child on my lap, never know pain or fear.  Or if he does, I pray the Lord give him rest, and kept him in His grace.
 
May this child upon my lap, sleep in peace and grace.    May angels guide him on his way, and fill his dreams with light.  I pray the Lord watch over him, as he sleeps.  And keep him in His comforting arms.
 
May this child upon my lap, know love and joy.  And in times of sadness, I pray the Lord gives me the strength to help him in his plight.
